How to Delete Contacts on iPhone
As you know, to delete a contact on an iPhone, you can do the following: Go to Contacts on your iPhone, then select any contact > Edit> Delete Contact.

However, iOS doesn’t offer a “Select All” option for quick deletion. The option to delete all contacts is hidden in the iPhone’s Settings.
In your iPhone’s Settings, select your Apple ID and iCloud settings. Then select iCloud.

Find Contacts in the Apps Using iCloud section and toggle it off. Your iPhone will immediately ask what you want to do with the previously saved contacts. Select “Delete from My iPhone.”

Alternatively, if you want to back up your iPhone contacts, select “Keep on My iPhone,” turn Contacts back on, and select “Merge.” Then turn it off again to select “Delete from My iPhone.”

Hopefully, this method of deleting iPhone contacts will help you solve the problem of deleting contacts before transferring or selling your device to someone else, while ensuring your contacts are backed up to iCloud. We hope you find this successful. You can also check out how to back up iPhone contacts here.
